You ease the financial burden on families

Financial statistics

Having a child in the hospital can have a huge financial impact on families, especially those who travel a distance for care. Gifts to the Patient and Family Fund are used by our social workers to provide extra support when needed.

“Many times parents are out of work and out of income, but they have other kids at home they still need to see and gas cards make it possible. A $20 gas card goes far and above in many different circumstances and is one simple thing we can offer to take the burden off families.” –Sophia Davis, MSW, APSW, Pediatric Social Worker

“Our medically complex kiddos often have so many needs that one parent can’t work. Families figure out how to make ends meet and stretch funds at a time of lost income, but providing one month’s rent or mortgage payment can be huge. It’s typically your biggest expense, and when parents don’t have to worry about that, a huge level of stress is taken off. “ –Kim Sue Lamster, MSW, APSW, Pediatric Social Worker
